HAZARDOUS AGENTS ADMINISTERED TO ANIMALS If you will be administering hazardous agents to animals in the course of your research using animals, you must file appropriate forms and/or receive authorization from the appropriate University of Kentucky Environmental Health and Safety Department, depending upon the type of agent used. Click on the appropriate agent below for information and links to the proper forms. Chemical agent - For animal research using hazardous chemicals, a "Chemical Hygiene Plan" must be implemented for your laboratory. Infectious agent - Animal research using an infectious agent requires submission of an "Infectious Agent Registration Form" to the Institutional Biosafety Committee. Recombinant DNA - Animal research using recombinant DNA requires submission of a "Recombinant DNA Registration Form" to the Institutional Biosafety Committee. Radioactive material - Animal research using radioactive material requires submission of an "Application for Authorization to Possess and Use Radioactive Material" to the Radiation Safety Committee. |
