University of Kentucky faculty and staff attracted a record $132.2 million in research contracts, grants, and gifts from sources outside the university during FY 1999. Nearly $128 million was distributed through the University of Kentucky Research Foundation (UKRF) and $4.2 million was received through the UK Office of Development. The record $132.2 million in extramural research funding marks the fifth consecutive year that UK has topped $100 million. Nearly $72 million was received from federal sources.
