This form must be completed each June for the upcoming academic year so that your graduate assistants may be nominated for tuition scholarships, in compliance with the Tax Reform Act of 1986. A completed Reasonable Compensation Form must be on file in the University of Kentucky Graduate School and minimum reasonable compensation must be met before students may receive tuition scholarships.   Note: JavaScript must be enabled on your browser to use this form.

If hiring department is not the same as academic department, the student's stipend must meet the reasonable compensation of the hiring department.

Your determination of reasonable compensation should be based on local market considerations, i.e., how much it would cost you to hire a person with comparable credentials to perform these duties on a part-time basis. Local market value of the service performed is particularly important and should be well documented. Please note that departments are required to minimally pay graduate assistants what is listed as reasonable compensation on this form. Students who are not paid equal to or above reasonable compensation will not be eligible for a tuition scholarship from the Graduate School.
