Guidelines for Consent Agenda Items

  1. Items eligible to be posted to the Consent Agenda include:
    1. Time Extensions (as deemed straightforward by the Dean's office)
    2. Appointments to Graduate Faculty
    3. Program Changes
      1. Change in Model I, II, or III
      2. Change in language requirement
    4. Course Changes
      1. Credit hours
      2. Type of credit (e.g., from fixed credit to variable credit)
      3. Number of times a course may be repeated
      4. Course level/numbering
      5. Course no longer being taught (dropped)
      6. Reinstatement of courses
  2. No items on the consent agenda will require assignment to an investigator.
  3. No discussion of the consent agenda is required at the Graduate Council meeting.
  4. The consent agenda will be posted to the Graduate Council Web site <www.research.uky.edu/gs/gradcouncil.html> by noon on Wednesday one week prior to the Graduate Council meeting and will be password protected.
  5. If there is objection to an item on the consent agenda, the objection must be e-mailed to the Graduate Council coordinator by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday before the council meeting so that the item can be removed from the consent agenda and placed on the regular agenda (as required by the Open Records policy).
  6. If there are no objections to any of the items on the consent agenda, an e-mail will go out the Wednesday before Graduate Council stating that the agenda has passed.
