Faculty are reminded that the development and delivery of a course to off-campus sites, particularly if that course is largely or wholly in multi-media format, imposes an additional approval/reporting paperwork requirement upon the program involved. The Graduate Council and the University Senate approved two sets of guidelines related to (a) UK/SACS distance learning reporting procedures and (b) conversion of graduate-level courses largely or wholly over to multi-media format. The documents related to these two points were distributed across the University, and are available on our Web site in the Policies and Procedures section above. As the requirements are rather vague and generally unknown, faculty involved with distance learning courses or programs should contact the Distance Learning Office to discuss what might be needed in a specific case for the efficient preparation of the document needed and expeditious approval by the Graduate Council and transmittal onward.
