The Academic Hood should be draped around the neck and shoulders so that the larger
portion hangs down the wearer's back.
The velvet or velveteen degree band is worn on the outside. This band should be folded under on the lower back in order to expose the lining and the chevron colors. There is a loop attached to the front of the hood which should be secured to a shirt button so that the front is positioned as shown below. If there is no button to which the loop can be secured, a safety pin should be used to hold the hood front in place.
