Students who fall into these three categories will have their names (and dissertation titles if applicable) printed in the Commencement booklet.

Will I be recognized by name at Commencement?

Master's degree recipients will not be recognized by name at Commencement, rather they will be recognized, en masse, by program. Many colleges have their own commencement ceremonies, and master's degree recipients are often recognized individually at these ceremonies; students should inquire at their college.

Doctoral degree recipients will be recognized individually at commencement. They will have their name called out by the Dean of The Graduate School; they will walk across stage, have their picture taken shaking hands with the Provost, and receive a diploma cover. If you completed all degree requirements by May 4 , 2008 your  diploma may be picked up at the Office of the Registrar after July 14, 2008 .  If it is not picked up, it will be mailed in mid-August to spring degree recipients' diploma addresses (or permanent addresses if a spring degree recipient doesn't have a diploma address on file). The Commencement photographer will contact those who were photographed with the Provost at the email address provided when you sent your RSVP to the Graduate School.
