Domestic Application Materials

All U.S. citizens and permanent residents of the U.S. must use the Domestic Application Form.

The University of Kentucky is committed to a policy of providing educational opportunities to all qualified students regardless of economic or social status, and will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, marital status, beliefs, age, national origin, or physical or mental disability.

Applicants must hold an awarded four-year baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.

An overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.75 and 3.0 on all graduate work is required of degree-seeking students. Individual programs may have higher requirements.

Two official transcripts must be sent to The Graduate School (106 Gillis Building, Lexington, KY 40506) directly from each college or university attended. Official transcripts in envelopes sealed (unopened) by the institution's Registrar and sent with the application are acceptable. All applicants must submit official scores on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Business Administration and Accounting applicants must substitute the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Applicants to Public Administration and Health Administration may substitute the GMAT for the GRE.

NOTE: Many graduate programs at the University of Kentucky require the completion of secondary (program-specific) application forms and/or the submission of additional supporting documents such as letters of recommendation. These items should be sent directly to the Director of Graduate Studies for the program of interest. In order to insure that all materials are submitted in a timely fashion, applicants are urged to contact the program of interest at the time of their initial application to the Graduate School.

For further information as to what is required by each individual program, see Graduate Degree Programs.
