The CIA award provides in-state tuition for up to nine credit hours. The award is issued for the entire academic year, fall only or spring only. No summer awards are disbursed. Students may not receive any other graduate student awards, fellowships, or tuition scholarships. Post-baccalaureate students, UK employees, and students enrolled in professional programs are ineligible to receive this award.
New students must be admitted to the Graduate School and continuing students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. CIA awards are limited to a maximum of 4 semesters in a master's program, 8 semesters in a doctoral program and 10 semesters in a master's followed by a doctoral program. Students cannot receive the scholarship for a second master's degree. The awards are open to all individuals who are Kentucky residents. However, consideration will be given to applicants who:
Students must complete the online application form (below) and then ask the Director of Graduate Studies of their program to fill out the DGS portion prior to submitting it to the Graduate School Recruitment Office.
