Association of Emeriti Faculty Endowed Fellowships
2007
Applications are invited for two $1,500 fellowships offered by the University of Kentucky Association of Emeriti Faculty, in conjunction with the Graduate School . These awards are made possible by generous donations from UK emeriti faculty members as well as support from the Research Challenge Trust Fund. These fellowships express the commitment of emeriti faculty to the preparation of outstanding future college and university teachers.
CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY

Candidates must be currently enrolled, full-time, fully admitted Ph.D., Ed.D., D.M.A.,
or D.S. students.
- Candidates must have completed at least two semesters in their current Graduate School academic program.
- Candidates must be preparing for careers in college/university teaching.
APPLICATION PROCESS
In the following order, the application packet must include:
- A completed fellowship application form specific to the Association of Emeriti Faculty Fellowship.
- A photocopy of a current UK transcript, including work in progress for the current semester. A Web-generated transcript is acceptable.
- A photocopy of GRE or GMAT scores, if available. If the candidate does not have this information, the Fellowship Office will provide the scores to the AEF Committee.

An essay of no more than two double-spaced pages, providing information that will assist the committee in evaluating candidate's application. This information might include area of concentration within his/her field of study, obstacles overcome, reasons for selecting a career in college teaching, aspirations, personal characteristics, and how a candidate might benefit from this fellowship.

A resume/vitae listing college honors or recognition, publications, relevant teaching, research, business or work experience.

Two letters of recommendation prepared by individuals familiar with the candidate's teaching and research abilities. These letters should not be sent under separate cover but should be attached to each of the application packets.
DUE DATE FOR APPLICATIONS
Application packets (four complete sets, each set collated with staple in top left corner) with all required documentation must reach the Graduate School Funding Office, 203 Gillis Building, no later than Wednesday, October 10, 2007.
A selection committee from the Association of Emeriti Faculty, in consultation with the Dean of the Graduate School, will determine awardees.
