
Applications are invited for a $2,000 fellowship offered by the University of Kentucky Woman’s Club, in conjunction with the Graduate School. These awards are made possible by generous donations from UK Woman’s Club members as well as support from the Research Challenge Trust Fund.
In the following order, the application packet must include:
A completed fellowship application form specific to the Woman’s Club Fellowship;
A copy of a current UK transcript, including work in progress for the current semester. A web-generated transcript is acceptable.
Resume or curriculum vitae.
Two letters of recommendation prepared by faculty familiar with the candidate’s academic abilities. These letters should be included with all other application materials and not sent under separate cover.
An essay of no more than two double-spaced pages, providing information to the committee in evaluating the candidate’s application. This information might include area of concentration within the field of study, obstacles overcome, aspirations, personal characteristics, and how a candidate might benefit from this fellowship.
Ranking of the candidates and alternates for these fellowships will be determined on the basis of the criteria set forth above. Faculty representatives of the standing fellowship panels will advise the dean on recommended recipients and alternates.
Application packets (five complete sets, collated with staple in top left corner) with all required documentation must reach the Graduate School Funding Office, 203 Gillis Building, no later than Wednesday, October 22, 2008.
