Energy Compensation with Exercise

A negative energy balance is required for weight loss. When exercise alone is used as means to induce this negative energy balance, however, several mechanisms are in place to return the body to homoeostasis, resisting energy imbalance and weight loss. This talk will describe such mechanisms, results from a recently published study by Dr. Flack, and the current “Exercise for Weight Control” study that began recruiting in January of this year.
