Markey Cancer Center Research Day

Markey Cancer Center Research Day is a single-day event showcasing current cancer research projects throughout all disciplines at the University of Kentucky. For the ninth consecutive year, the event is being held at the UK Singletary Center for the Arts.

On May 9, 2018, UK researchers – students, post-doctoral fellows, faculty and staff – have the opportunity to share their work in an atmosphere of learning and collaboration through several avenues such as:

  • Poster sessions
  • Oral presentations (invited)
  • Luncheon
  • State of the Cancer Center Address
  • Susan B. Lester Memorial Lecture, presented by Nancy E. Davidson, MD, Director and Member of the Clinical Research Division and Senior Vice President at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington.

The call for abstracts will remain open through Noon on March 9, 2018.

Poster abstracts can be submitted in one of following research categories:

  • Basic Science
  • Clinical
  • Translational
  • Population-based
  • Biostatistics/Bioinformatics
  • Informatics/IT
  • Core resources

Prizes will be awarded to graduate students and to post-doctoral fellows for the best posters.

In addition to the poster competition, the judges select an abstract from one graduate student, one post-doctoral fellow and one junior faculty member to be presented during the oral presentations.
