Presenter: Special Agent Robert Spelbrink

Special Agent Robert Spelbrink is currently assigned to the Louisville FBI office and has spent the bulk of his FBI career in the FBI Washington Field Office, Washington D.C. region.  He has over eighteen years experience in the FBI working National Security investigations to include counterintelligence, counter proliferation, and espionage investigations.  In Washington Field Office he was the Strategic Partnership Coordinator where he interfaced with companies and academic institutions in the DC area assessing their security vulnerabilities.  He was promoted to a program manager at FBI Headquarters where he helped developed the Private Sector Engagement program to allow the FBI to better engage private sector businesses and academia.  Prior to joining the FBI, he worked as researcher at the Danforth Plant Science Center in St. Louis, Missouri.  SA Spelbrink earned a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the University of Missouri and has bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Business Administration from the University of Missouri.  He has authored a book on national security matters titled Securing U.S. Innovation: The Challenge of Preserving a Competitive Advantage in the Creation of Knowledge.
