Dr. Stallin's work investigates how coastal barrier island dunes and beaches respond to sea level rise and increasing storminess and how cities modify their weather and climate through air pollution and land cover change. As a geographer, he is also interested in how humans perceive, map and model weather and climate. He strives for a pluralistic versus a specialist understanding of climate change. This encompasses an understanding of natural as well as anthropogenic climate change, and a comprehension of how complex systems work.
