Rae Lyn Campbell
RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Rae Lyn Campbell is a first year Master’s student in the Counseling Psychology program. She began working in the Psychiatry Department as a research assistant in Fall of 2008. Rae Lyn is currently studying battered women that kill their intimate partner. She is involved in literature review, data collection and analysis, as well as other aspects involving the grant proposal.

Emily Clear
RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Emily Clear is a Master of Public Health candidate and a Certified Health Education Specialist who began working for Dr. Ann Coker as a graduate research assistant in the fall of 2008. Currently, she is involved in a study screening for psychosocial factors during pregnancy at the UK Bluegrass High Risk Obstetrics Clinic. Emily’s research interests include women’s health, adolescent health and teen pregnancy.

Lisandra S. Garcia
RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Lisandra Garcia, a graduate student in the Master of Public Health (MPH) program, began working with the Center in the spring of 2008. Under the mentorship of Dr. Ann L. Coker, Lisandra is currently working on several research projects aimed at understanding the effects of intimate partner violence (IPV) on pregnancy outcomes. Her research interests reside primarily in understanding the prevalence and effects of IPV in the growing Hispanic population in Kentucky.

Katherine McHugh
RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Katherine McHugh (Katie) is on a research leave of absence from the UK College of Medicine in order to work with Dr. Ann Coker at the UK Center for Research on Violence Against Women. Her duties include designing surveys and survey updates, interviewing patients for inclusion in postpartum health, abuse, and depression databases, and grant development and revision. Katie is also working with Dr. Kristine Lain, OB/GYN MFM, to develop a new protocol for the treatment of gestational diabetes. Katie holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Louisville in Music and attended Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, and worked toward earning a master’s degree in Opera Performance before deciding to become a physician. Upon completing medical school, Katie hopes to pursue a career in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is also the proud mother of five month old Colin.

Jill Rogers
RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Jill Rogers, a graduate student in the school psychology doctoral program, began working with the Center in the fall of 2008. Jill assists Dr. Diane Follingstad, Women's Circle Endowed Chair for the Center, in researching psychological aggression in cohabitating couples and domestic violence in the justice system.
