THREE-MINUTE THESIS (3MT®) -- UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY
The Final Competition will be held on Tuesday, November 15th, from 5:30-7:00pm, in Gatton College's Kincaid Auditorium.
Competitors in the final will be as follows:

Carleigh Fedorka - Veterinary Sciences - "The Dirty Broodmare...Cleaned Up"
Cynthia Dickerson - Pharmaceutical Sciences - "Multivariate Analysis: Making Medicine Safe for You!"
Hannah Ruehl - English - "Fighting the Grey: Aging and Victorian Women"
Jaclyn Johnson - Political Science - "Squeaky Wheels and Troop Loyalty: How Domestic Protests Influence Coups d'etat, 1951-2005"
Jessica Richard - Agricultural Economics - "Dairy Margin Protection Program"
Kai Zhang - Pharmacology - "Blocking MCP-1, a potential preventative therapy for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD)"
Karen Guettler-James - Educational Psychology - "Resiliency: A Necessity for Black Male College Students"
Michael Halcomb - Linguistics - " 'Amen' to that! : Using Linguistics to Analyze the History of a Word"
Prizes in the final round include:
1st Place - $1,000
2nd Place - $500
3rd Place - $250
People's Choice - $125 (This one goes to the crowd favorite, so come out and support your fellow graduate students on the 15th!)
Additionally, the 1st place winner will receive an expenses-paid trip to the Southern Council of Graduate Schools Regional Competition to be held March 2-5, 2017 in Annapolis, Maryland.
Sponsored by the Graduate Student Congress and the Student Government Association, 3MT® is a research communication initiative requiring graduate students to speak succinctly and engagingly about their current research to a non-specialist audience.
