Dr. Tritia Yamasaki, MD, PhD

Dr. Yamasaki is an Associate Professor of Neurology at University of Kentucky.  She completed her BS in biology from Yale University, and her MD and PhD at University of California, Irvine. Her PhD involved investigation of stem cell transplant in transgenic models of neurodegenerative disease. After Neurology residency at University of California, Los Angeles, she completed a Movement Disorder fellowship at Washington University in St Louis which consisted of both clinical and research training. She has been at UK since 2015 and sees patients with movement disorders in clinic and at UK Hospital. Her research focuses on the pathologic aggregation of alpha-synuclein in Parkinson’s disease and related disorders and is funded by a Veteran’s Administration Career Development Award.
