The Kentucky Department for Public Health in collaboration with the Kentucky Population Health Institute is hosting the Fifth Annual Children’s Environmental Health Summit. Due to COVID-19, this event will be virtual this year offering a series of monthly webinars beginning June 11th. The monthly webinar series is below. This Environmental Summit is funded through EnviroHealthLink Kentucky’s Environmental Public Health Tracking Program and sponsors; Kentucky Environmental Education Council, Kentucky Asthma Management Program, and the University of Kentucky Center for Appalachian Research in Environmental Sciences.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

The target audience includes: decision/policymakers, administrators, teachers, childcare personnel, pediatricians, nurses, academia, environmental educators, providers, community health workers, and state and local public health staff who help assure a safe school, home, play, preschool and community environment for children.

The webinars are free and CEUs will be offered.

When registering, please select the ticket type based on CE credits for your profession (1 person will choose 1 for the credit type, NOT the number of credits you want to receive) or select ENV Summit - no CE if this does not apply.

Learning Objectives:
• Increase in participant knowledge regarding the environment and hazards and how they affect human health.
• Present current theoretical knowledge to enhance and expand skills for nurses, physicians, teachers, academia, and public health professionals.
• Promote competence in decision-making.
• Gain awareness of environmental exposures and how to reduce these for children.
• Understand the use of data from the Environmental Public Health Tracking Network and how this might drive policy decisions.
• Gather ideas to integrate nature and natural surroundings in any environment.
