---Cayuse Monthly Maintenance Notification---

Cayuse monthly maintenance is this Saturday, October 11th, 2025, from 9am-9pm Pacific time (12pm-12am Eastern). This is not a continuous 12 hour outage and the listed time frame reflects a broad window when maintenance activity may occur. While we suggest avoiding system use during the maintenance window if possible, access may still be available with occasional disruptions. If a user encounters an issue logging in, please have them wait a few minutes and retry. We expect brief moments of downtime as updates are applied.

If you experience unexpected behaviors while working in the system, clear your browser cache and try again. Instructions on how to do this can be found at the following link to the UK Service Now Knowledge Bank and choosing the article for Chrome.

If you cannot log in, please submit a RESIS ticket.

---September 2025---
In response to the recent Office of the Vice President for Research survey, we are updating the protocol form instructions and attaching relevant policies jointly to ensure consistency. Phase I updates are expected to be uploaded to the system on September 5, 2025, starting with the sections below. Once implemented, these changes will apply to newly submitted 3yr rewrites, new protocols, and applicable amendments.

Important Cayuse Protocol Form Updates for Researchers - Phase I

Rodent Breeding Page: New instructions clarify the rodent strains listed in this section are only those bred in-house. Other rodent strains are to be listed in the Justification for Choice of Species using the new template.

Justification for Choice of Species & Template Requirement: All non-breeding rodent strains being used (e.g. ordered from a vendor, external/internal transfer, etc.) will now be listed here using the downloadable Rodent Strains: Not Bred In-House form and attached to this section.

Databases Searched Page: Added resources including librarian contact info, general database links, and IACUC-specific search hedges and now includes a link to IACUC Document 109, which defines pain categories and database search requirements.
