Small-Scale Funding

A critical component of UNITE’s vision is to synergize efforts that elevate research focused on equity at the University of Kentucky. UNITE has developed a mechanism to sponsor the efforts of University of Kentucky researchers by way of small-scale research pilot funding, research support for scholarship focused on equity, and support for research conducted by underrepresented scholars.

UK Faculty from diverse disciplines meeting the following criteria are eligible to apply:

  • UNITE Research Priority Area member
  • Full-time UK Regular Title Series, Research Title Series, and Special Title Series (Research/Scholarship DOE required)
  • All applications involving students or postdoctoral trainee support require a faculty sponsor who meets the eligibility criteria.
  • Examples of eligible requests include but are not limited to: 
    • Pilot funding for research
    • Consultant fees for grant submissions
    • Research-related costs associated with a new or current project
    • Research-related conference costs associate with first author presentations
    • Research conducted by student or postdoctoral trainees
    • Other - Inquire with UNITE to confirm if your request is eligible
